SMALL GRANTS STORIES : Tunaroma

COVID-19 Response / Articles / 22-02-2022

"After studying and training in the extraction of essential oils and cosmetics, I opened a cosmetics company in my home region of Jendouba, which is rich in natural resources, especially aromatic and medicinal plants.

I consider the project to be part of the social and solidarity economy, as it helps local workers capitalize on the region’s natural resources in a responsible way. We work directly with six rural women who collect aromatic and medicinal plants with total respect for their dignity and the environment.

I heard about the COVID-19 Enterprise Recovery Grant Fund established by the US government through the USAID Tunisia JOBS program on social media.

I am overjoyed to receive a grant under this fund, which will allow my company to invest in new equipment and a commercial website to increase production and generate more sales. I would also like to obtain a certification to help us grow more, sustain two jobs, and create two jobs by the end of the year."
