COVID-19 Response / Articles / 09-02-2023

After working in advertising in Tunis for 14 years, I decided to move back to my hometown – Jendouba – to be closer to my family. I struggled to find a job in the city, which has an extremely high unemployment rate, so I took matters into my own hands and began providing digital marketing services on international outsourcing platforms. This allowed me to build a loyal customer base, mainly in France, Switzerland, the US, and the UK.

The COVID-19 Enterprise Recovery Fund established by the U.S. government as part of its USAID Tunisia JOBS program helped me establish a new office and purchase the equipment I needed to meet growing demand. I was also able to take advantage of opportunities that arose during and after the health crisis and hired my first staff member at the beginning of the year. I have plans to hire another one by the end of the first quarter.
