Establishing a better prepared workforce

More than 43,000 youth benefited from new ICT and Business Administration academic curricula.

More than 3,600 youth placed in new jobs and 1,050 youth placed in internship programs

5 universities, 147 teachers and over 250 students are piloting a semester-long Professional Career Development (PCD) course that will ultimately reach up to 150 additional teachers and 50,000 youth nationwide.

Forging a more conducive enabling policy and regulatory environment for business growth

JOBS supported Tunisia’s business enabling environment in the following ways:

  •   $1.97 million annually after removal of the most burdensome steps in starting a business
  •   17 requirements removed for licenses and authorizations to start a business, reducing time spent by SMEs on these steps by 45 days
  •   $1.92 million annually through use of an app to apply for and receive a temporary transport authorizations
  •   30% increase anticipated in the number of public procurement proposals submitted by SMEs, creating more opportunities
  •   Supported greater transparency and efficiency by helping implement five platforms, reducing costs for SMEs.

Conducted a National Youth Survey assessing youth economic optimism 9,689 respondents.
